Carbon Energy upbeat after rights issue

Carbon Energy says it is "now well placed financially" to continue the ongoing development of its proprietary keyseam technology (which allows continuous retraction of the Controlled Retractable Injection Point process) and development of its portfolio of UCG projects after it raised AUD 8.2m from a one for eight non renounceable rights issue.

New UCG project in Siberia

Red Mountain Energy - In Russia, for the first time in decades a UCG project has been launched in the Kemerovo region in Siberia, by CBM Partners, a subsidiary of Red Mountain Energy. Initially the syngas from UCG will be used to generate power for a local town. Currently, CBM Partners has a team of experienced exploration geologists working on a UCG feasibility study.

CIRI drilling confirms coal seams suitable for UCG; seismic planned

Petroleum News - After an exploration programme involving the drilling of 13 core holes, Cook Inlet Region Inc. has confirmed the existence of a significant coal resource likely to be suitable for underground gasification in the corporation's land on the west side of Alaska's Cook Inlet.
