It has low visual impact, none of the legacy risks associated with nuclear power, and will not suffer the variability in output associated with renewable wind or wave energy. It is a sustainable long-term development free from geopolitical risks and volatile hydrocarbon prices. It will position the coal industry to take advantage of future ‘clean energy’ demands and alter any perception that coal is yesterday’s fuel.

BCG Energy is focused on developing deep coal reserves through the underground gasification of coal and the generation of power from uncoventional gas.

Our strategic approach to site identification, license acquisition, and then subsequent addition of value through the proof of reserves, technologies and other considerations offers a number of stages for investment.

To enable us to achieve our goals and realise the potential of UCG, we are seeking investment and operating partners on a number of significant project opportunities at different investment stages — £0.5m, £5m and £25m.
